IRAs

What is an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)?

An IRA is a type of account that enables you to save money for retirement in a tax-advantaged manner. It can also act as an investment account to roll over any employer-sponsored retirement plan assets when changing jobs or retiring. As the availability of Social Security becomes more uncertain, an IRA can be a great way to save for the future, even if you already participate in a retirement plan at work. There are a number of different IRAs available, but for most people it comes down to two choices: the Traditional IRA or the Roth IRA.
