Some days, it seems as though the economy is about as predictable as the weather. But like the weather, the economy has always historically rebounded after stormy times.

Today, we're in the middle of a recession. Gas, groceries, and other common items have taken a front seat to luxuries like vacations, new cars, and electronics.

But don’t think of your retirement as a luxury. Despite the economy’s dips, you shouldn’t stop contributing to your retirement accounts since this is the money you will have to live off of once you retire.

This means you might have to make some choices in terms of where you contribute your savings. Remember through that you can probably get a loan for college or for your daughter’s wedding. You can’t get a loan to get you through retirement.
